Within these works I am interested in the intersection of craft and technology. Sourcing my collage images from the instructional Decorative Victorian Needlework book, I stack the pages, cutting geometric shapes in the top layer to reveal the page underneath. Utilizing the method of collage allows me to create these layered diptychs- creating a new dialogue between two images that normally would not be seen simultaneously. The square format and grid-like structure of the needlepoint book is reminiscent of pixels and the combined images suggest computer glitches. Reading these needlepoint collages through the lens of technology we are able to see two very different processes of image making and viewing in one frame.
